SWCAC Cookout at Carolina Pines

Members of the South West Citizens Advisory Council (SWCAC) gathered under the outdoor pavilion at Carolina Pines Park to enjoy an evening of being neighbors. On Monday, July 12 we exchanged our regular monthly meeting for a cookout. Hamburgers, hot dogs, the fixings, and drinks were provided, while there were plenty of side dishes brought by attendees’ to be shared.

We had a great turn out for the cookout, almost 30 people attended. If you didn’t make it, you missed the main course of hamburgers and Bright Leaf hot dogs along with wonderful side dishes including homemade peach ice cream.

As we look ahead to August, we’ll have a pretty full agenda. Our new police leader in the South West District, Captain Neimann is supposed to visit, and we’ll have updates for a new rezoning case on the corner of Lake Wheeler Road and Carolina Pines (Z-21-10) and an update on the upcoming Neighborhood Exchange event slotted for September 2010.

Thanks to everyone who attended the cookout and brought a side dish. It was nice to talk with everyone in a more casual setting and have some good food with the great people that make this one of the best communities in Raleigh.
