Several communities in Southwest Raleigh are participating in National Night Out™ (NNO), on August 2nd. National Night Out is an opportunity for communities nationwide to promote police-community partnerships, crime prevention, safety awareness, and neighborhood camaradarie. National Night Out is designed to:
- Heighten crime awareness, drug prevention awareness, & safety awareness
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
- Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back
The City of Raleigh has a complete listing of neighborhoods celebrating NNO this year (that have registered). In Raleigh’s Creative District, we have the Pleasant Ridge & Ramsgate Community Watch inviting neighbors for a watermelon social and the Caraleigh Community Watch hosting a pot luck dinner.
