Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

The SouthWest Citizens Advisory Council (SWCAC) starting looking forward to 2011, eyeing goals for the new year, at their monthly meeting on Monday, December 13, 2010. This month, we hosted our friends from the West CAC to discuss items of interest to both groups. Ample Storage Coming to Lake Wheeler Road?

Monday, September 13th, 2010

Ample StorageAt tonight’s South West Citizens Advisory Council (SWCAC) meeting, one of the main topics is the rezoning case Z-21-10 [PDF]. The rezoning is on the corner of Lake Wheeler Road and Kirkland Drive, and based on last month’s presentation, a vote in support could take place during the meeting. The petitioners want to put an Ample Storage facility on the site. This could be the type of development that kick starts the right kind of growth that the Lake Wheeler corridor has been missing for the last few years. There are no guarantees about what development will go on a rezoned property.

Would you vote in favor of rezoning Z-21-10?

  • no (50%, 2 Votes)
  • yes (50%, 2 Votes)

We added a FaceBook group and continue to collaborate on ideas to improve our neighborhoods and our quality of life.

Over the past few weeks, a core group of individuals has been meeting to discuss what’s next for the organization. I can’t announce the names quite yet, as we are still defining roles and who is committing to those roles. But it feels like it’s the right time to let our members know some of the things we are planning. I think it’s better for you to be involved early and not be surprised at some of the things that might be changing. (more…)
