On January 31, 2011, a group of about 20 neighbors met at Carolina Pines Community Park to discuss recent changes to CAT bus routes 11 and 7c. The routes were changed at the beginning of the year and are having a negative impact on the Trailwood Hills community according to neighbors who live on Trailwood Hills Drive. (more…)

As you may be aware, the City of Raleigh recently rerouted the public bus route that serviced our neighborhood, Trailwood Hills. The route now runs through our neighborhood on Trailwood Hills Drive and has several stops in our neighborhood.

Have you seen the new bus stop on Lineberry Drive? We got some upgrades at the bus stop near Lineberry Drive and Trailwood Drive on CAT route 11 (Avent Ferry route).

I was curious about what was going on and what sparked the enhancement from a single bench to a full on shelter and waiting pad. I was able to get up with Aaron Hair, Planner I with the City of Raleigh to get the details. We put Aaron on the hot seat for a quick interview on these upgrades and other Capital Area Transit (CAT) services:

The North Carolina State Fair starts this Thursday, October 14. It’s always a good time whether you go for games, rides, food, or shows. See the information below on how to leverage Capital Area Transit services to avoid the parking and traffic hassles.
ENJOY THE FAIR AND AVOID THE HASSLES BY USING CAT’S SHUTTLE SERVICE
Avoid the traffic and parking hassles at the North Carolina State Fair by riding Capital Area Transit’s (CAT) State Fair Shuttle Service. CAT will offer daily service from two Park & Ride locations and fixed-route service along Hillsborough Street to the North Carolina State Fair on Oct. 14 through Oct. 24.
The shuttles will operate every 20 to 30 minutes each day of the fair. All passengers will be dropped off at (more…)

CAT: September 27-October 1
- September 27th, Monday -Try Transit Week Kickoff – Mayor Meeker will kick off the week at Moore Square Station
- September 28th, Tuesday – Rack and Ride Day – Bike to a bus stop and RIDE FOR FREE (first come, first serve) Visit us at the Duke Medical Plaza Knightdale Park and Ride from 4-6pm for a special event!
- September 29th, Wednesday – Stuff the Bus Food Drive – Come help us stuff a bus for the Food Bank of Eastern North Carolina. Donate 3 canned goods (no glass containers) to be stuffed into a cat bus and receive a coupon for a free Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich, no purchase necessary!
