My husband’s grandma always said “Spring is sprung, the grass is ris, I wonder where the birdies is?” I’m just wondering where Spring is!! Regardless of the temperature outside, the calendar has told us Spring is here and the IRS is telling us taxes are due!
If you are like me, you are thinking about the spring cleaning you promise to do every year, and wondering where to put all that junk! You might also be scrambling to get your taxes done, and going through piles of paper that you kept around all year “just in case”. Many people make the mistake of just putting those unneeded papers in their garbage, not bothering to shred it, leaving themselves and their personal information available to some very crafty people. It’s gonna be big. In fact, the biggest event of it’s kind in Raleigh. You’ll be able to recycle almost anything–even electronics with a plug. If you’ve been saving some of those recyclable items instead of adding them to the landfill, then Saturday, November 13, is the day you’ve been waiting for. Shred some old documents. Donate household items in good condition. There will be stuff for the kids to do and even a live band!

RALEIGH TO CELEBRATE AMERICA RECYCLES DAY IN BIG WAY
Raleigh Recycling, the recycling division of the City of Raleigh Solid Waste Services Department, will hold its largest recycling event ever to celebrate America Recycles Day on Saturday, Nov. 13. Recycling, shredding and reuse services, exhibitors, a Kid Zone for children and a live band will be among the activities at the free event, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shops of Seaboard, 802 Semart Drive.
